When you land on the site, our servers note the usual: IP address, browser type, the page you clicked from. If you sign up for route alerts, we grab your email and nothing else. No names, no birthdays, no blood type. Cookies? Only the functional kind, to remember your map zoom or dark mode preference. We don’t sell data, don’t trade it, don’t even peek unless the server’s on fire.

How We Use It
Your email gets one job: sending the occasional update when a new pin drops or a trail closes. The tech stuff helps us fix bugs and keep the map from spinning into the void. Analytics are anonymized, stripped of anything that could point back to you. We’re here to show you forgotten places, not to follow you home.

Sharing and Disclosure
We don’t share your info with third parties except when the law knocks, like a subpoena with teeth, or if our hosting provider needs a log to stop a DDoS attack. If we ever get acquired (unlikely, we’re stubborn), your data stays with the ship, same rules apply.

Security Measures
Everything rides on encrypted connections, HTTPS by default. Emails sit in a vaulted inbox, access limited to two humans who’d rather be in a desert than a database. Backups are automated, off-site, and encrypted. If something leaks, you’ll hear from us first, not the news.

Your Choices
Unsubscribe anytime with one click at the bottom of any email. Want your data deleted? Shoot us a note and it’s gone within 30 days, no questions. Cookies can be blocked in your browser, though the map might sulk a little.

This site isn’t for kids under 13. If we find out we’ve collected data from someone younger, we delete it faster than a closing gate in a ghost town.
